Whew! Got a little bit of catching up to do!

I can’t believe I never posted this here, but back in February I wrote a song with KAITO for the third and final ABCD Project! I tried to write something a little Grimm fairytale themed, and the song also features Aoki Lapis as chorus vocals. It was a lot of fun to make and I’m glad people seem to have enjoyed it!

Also, I’m happy to announce I’ll be hosting my UTAU: Free Virtual Vocalists panel at this upcoming Momocon in May! More details to come soon once the final schedules are hammered out–it’s already changed location/time once so I want to make sure everything is absolutely set in stone first!

If all goes well, I should have a special item to bring with me to the panel that I might do a raffle for ;D

Hey all! This is the first VOCALOID cover I’ve posted to YouTube in a long, long while! It’s Big Al singing CrusherP’s “Rinse, Repeat”. I’m so happy to finally post another thing with my favorite singing synth husband 💖

In other news, I’m happy to announce that I’ll have my UTAU panel at this year’s ETSU-con! The convention is February 17-18 on the East Tennessee State University campus. I’ll be posting the specific time and day of my panel once I have that information!

Catching up!

It’s been a while! I have several things to catch up on, so I’ll get the quick stuff out of the way first.

I updated all voicebank download links on Aiko’s wiki, and I’m in the process of switching her Facebook page over to a general Studio VOXYZ fanpage! While the URL change was easy enough though, Facebook is being stubborn in allowing me to change the page name. So there’s a chance it might stay in Aiko’s name. However, I’m going to start using it to post a lot more stuff Studio VOXYZ related!

And now for the videos I’d neglected to post! Aiko’s birthday was on the 10th of this month, and as a send-off to her English CVVC (as I’ll be focusing on recording VCCV), I posted a remake of an older cover: “Fireflies” by Owl City!

(Yes. Mostly for the memes.)

Also, I’m proud to announce my third original song! I produced “Siren’s Lament” for the MIRIAM 13th Anniversary collaboration “The Lady and the Silver Circle”, a 7-song compilation album which you can download for free here!

I tried to go for a sea-shanty feel in my song, which tells the story of a mermaid/siren (MIRIAM) who falls in love with a human (LOLA). And though he doesn’t sing, I intended for LEON to be the sailor mentioned in the lyrics! Perhaps someday I’ll make a full PV with all 3 of them…

New URL and v_flower!

This site can now be reached at kikyuune.utau.xyz! That’s right, .xyz is a brand new domain extension, and well, I really couldn’t say no to snagging utau.xyz. There will be a new Project UTAU XYZ website coming soon, so look forward to it!

Also, I’m pleased to say that I now have v_flower! I’ve finished my first cover with her! She’s a fantastic Vocaloid and certainly my favorite of the V3 series, and I plan to use her a LOT more in the future.

Due to the fact that they will be retired very soon, I went ahead and bought all 3 Zero-G Vocaloid1 voices: LOLA, LEON and MIRIAM! (Many thanks to Aërendyll for helping get LOLA)

I’ve already posted my first work with MIRIAM so far, a cover of “Barrier” by MJQ + Eri, and I hope to use all 3 of them for many projects in the future!

Also, yes, this means I have a proper PC! I’ll be reinstalling Big Al and the V3 Full Editor at the first chance I get, though I’m going to attempt to get Yukari working on Mac with Cubase.
